I dunno if "awful" is the exact term I'd use, but my excitement has definitely been shot down. Scarlet pretty much said a lot of what I was thinking, but I do like the idea of MK pretty much chasing crime to LA. The line-up of villains seemed kinda out there, except for Mr. Hyde.
I dunno if there are any wrestling fans on the board, but this whole "Avengers-in-one-man" gimmick, reminds me of what TNA does to alot of its younger talent: let's take a relative unknown and give him the qualities of a household name---and that'll get him over (like how AJ Styles and Jay Lethal were mimicking Ric Flair and Randy Savage respectively). This doesn't seem too far from the gratuitous guest-starring that cheapened the already-meh Marc Spector: Moon Knight. As stated before, we buy Moon Knight for MOON KNIGHT and because he is different from Spider-Man and Wolverine. I also don't really get how he can take on the personalities of Avengers that he doesn't interact with...I get if he had a Beast-personality and/or a Black Widow-personality (can you just grow other identities if you have MPD? Honestly, I really don't know)...but time will tell.
I really liked Bendis' Ultimate version of MK, but this new tale sounds like an odd mashup of Ultimate Spider-Man, Secret Invasion and New Avengers.
