The more recent MK stories all seem to bringing MK back from the lunatic fringe and closer to the way he was under Moench and despite the odd lapse into excessive violence (such as the Deadpool cross over). MK in the Shadow Avengers seems like an altogether more normalised hero (dare I say it, but so far even a little dull and pointless). Who knows was the Shadowland will bring us, but the confrontation with Khonshu's new avatar certainly fits thematically.
Don't know if this is all good or bad, but that certainly seems to be the direction. I'm enjoying the stories, but just hope that MK does not get excessively sanitised. I liked the harder edge to him and the way he was somewhere too close to the Punisher to be comfortable company for the rest of the Marvel Universe. I even miss the cestus sometimes. I liked the old detective stories. I certainly miss Marlene. What I don't miss is the way MK seemed to reel from one humiliation to the next in so much of the pre-VotMK arcs. I like seeing him come out on top.

: I know I've said this before, but Morpheus
: needs to come back.
:
: If it was his return that The Profile
: arranged, not only would it have made much
: more sense (he's not dead), it could have
: been just as, if not more, psychological in
: nature.
:
: Morpheus could have easily played games with
: Moon Knight's mind and attacked him with
: images of Bushman, which after his death,
: would have been much more meaningful than
: actually bringing him back to life.

: I've always said I would love a dark epic
: arc
: from one of the post relaunch writers
: centered around Morpheus..
:
: I would be a LITTLE better with the Bushman
: thing if he ended up dead again, either from
: the gun or from the fact that he's a Hood
: zombie and since the ones in that Punisher
: story died again, why not, you know..closure
: is closure.. (though we ARE talking about
: Marvel here..)
