We have had some really bad weather here in Massachusettts the past week. High winds, lots of rain. My Kirkman 300 Street lamp, which usually fends off the weather with ease, was hard to keep going. I was out there trying to figure out if it was the wind or what. I dumped and refilled the font (there was some water in it), changed the wick, and then even took it down and throughly flushed it out with a garden hose (looking for bugs).
Having done all that with no improvement, I concluded it was just the high winds (40+ MPH) and heavy rains/damp weather that was making life hard for it. As it turned out, that's all it was. When the weather cleared up it returned to "normal".
Anyway, a couple hundred feet away is a Kirkman #2 mounted on a post. I keep it running continuously, usually on a very low setting unless I need the light. After it was all over and the weather got better I looked over and the Kirkman #2 was still out there glowing like it always does.
