I know, this would have happened sooner or later, the final seizure. Today, tomorrow... probably soon. I don't know if giving cipro in the eye has the same warnings as orally, but cipro isn't for pets with histories of seizures, according to the warnings.
He needed preventative drops in his eye, so the scratch didn't get infected, but.. you did not need a diet lecture from a vet. I'd get those from mine, and Solomon is 30 years old. He has a mostly seed diet, with some sprouted grain bread, millet, and other dry stuff. He won't eat veggies or other foods or pellets at all. None of mine will touch pellets. I don't seem them as harmful added to a diet, but they aren't natural. to any bird diet, as most birds live on grasses, fruits and seeds.
I'm sorry, again. Your vet will deny the Cipro had anything to do with the severe seizures... but consider that it might have affected him, since birds are so sensitive. Whatever it was, it was not yoru fault. You gave Sunny a life of love and care... and he KNEW that, and his love will be with you always.
