I had a look at Astercote as it sounded promising but no. It's not that I'm afraid. I have narrowed down the years that the maypole one aired in Australia though. It must have been 1989 or 1990 because it was one of those 2 years that my teacher gave me the book that it was based on.
Oh well. The search continues...
