Glad you reminded me of Jack's name. He was a very handsome boy and a nice guy to Mary Lou's friends. It is sad that all the camps are being done away with. At one of the all-school reunions, Hiram and I drove out to some of them. The one where Marianne Melton lived, and "ragtown" and some others. They were abandoned mostly. I was amazed that Hiram could remember who lived in each house.
You guys had a thing about firecrackers! Do you remember a bunch of us in your car one night (can't remember everyone, but Shirley Strong, Lowell, me and a few others)? Anyway you guys decided to throw a firecracker onto the dance floor at Nick's. We drove away thinking it was a good little joke until some of the men there got in a car and chased us. We drove out to the camp and I believe into your garage, went in the house and kept the lights off. It was pretty scary and I think the guys chasing us hit a post at the entry gate. I never did tell my folks about THAT! Just said we had been out to Mrs. Joyce's house for awhile.Guess we all did some things we wouldn't have wanted our kids to do. I told my grandkids about how we played "ditchum" at McCamey .They couldn't believe I had done something so crazy.!!
It was good to hear from you and hope to see you at the Nifty Fifties reunion in McCamey in May.
