I have a Medicare Advantage plan..overall it offers a little more than plain Medicare. I see where they are encouraging these medi-calls as an alternative. It's hard enough to get a clear diagnosis on an in person basis, I'd be hard pressed to find value in a phone call for most complaints. If a test is taken, you shouldn't have to chase the results and it needn't be the doctor who makes the call. Someone has to evaluate the results whether benign or requiring further investigation, I'd assume the physician or his assistant. Simple irregularities can be passed on by any one authorized to handle the records and more serious ones, can be noted to seeing the physician.
