(I'm not trying to insult you, I'm just having some fun with images that are clearly not meant to be taken too seriously!) You may not like Tarintio or Frank Millar and that's your choice. That said both of them are incredibly successful. I'd venture it proably has something to do with the fact that a lot of people have opinions that differ from yours on the subject. I maintain my opinion the TOS is a great step forward in the Marvel family franchise. - Anthony --Previous Message--
If Adam West is before your time I'm presuming you're young enough that you've heard of a show called Seinfield! I wasn't refering to any artist, I was making a comparison to the overweight hair challenged gentlemen on the watermark of this page. :-)
: Adam West's Batman was a bit before my time,
: Frank Miller sucks, and with the sole
: exception of HERO with Jet Li, I can't
: stomach Tarentino's work, either.
:
: I've written an updated version of the
: Marvels that a lot of folks have said was
: excellent (couldn't prove it by me. I
: thought it was good, not excellent), but my
: "style template" was Bridwell and
: Newton's "New Look" Marvels of the
: late 70's-early 80's.
:
: By the way, Pete Costanza was one of Cap's
: Golden Age artists, not "George
: Kastanza."

: - One man "wholesale destruction of a
: 'mythos'" is another man's
: "Tarintino like ressurection of a
: C-list concept to A-list status"
:
: - I think it's an excellent re-imagining
: that's up to date with the times. Every time
: I read here someone's complaining about ToS.
: And yet when I look at the George
: Kastanza/Archie guys running around in the
: C.M. suits I can't help but wonder how
: anyone can deny the whole Shazam concept
: needed an overhaul.
: Don't get me wrong, if you like the old
: school style that's cool. I liked Adam West
: as Batman when I was a kid too. That said,
: IMHO, the Batman franchise needed The Dark
: Knight Returns the way the Marvel Concept
: needs The Trials of Shazam. Anyway no one
: should be complaining, DC's putting out
: 'monster society' for the fans of Cap from
: yesteryear. I seems to me this is win-win!
