--Previous Message-- - One man "wholesale destruction of a 'mythos'" is another man's "Tarintino like ressurection of a C-list concept to A-list status" - I think it's an excellent re-imagining that's up to date with the times. Every time I read here someone's complaining about ToS. And yet when I look at the George Kastanza/Archie guys running around in the C.M. suits I can't help but wonder how anyone can deny the whole Shazam concept needed an overhaul.
: If the wholesale destruction of the best
: "mythos" in comics is your bag,
: then you'll like this. If not, then you
: won't. I've skimmed through the first two
: and can honestly say that, in my OPINION, it
: sucks bog water.
Don't get me wrong, if you like the old school style that's cool. I liked Adam West as Batman when I was a kid too. That said, IMHO, the Batman franchise needed The Dark Knight Returns the way the Marvel Concept needs The Trials of Shazam. Anyway no one should be complaining, DC's putting out 'monster society' for the fans of Cap from yesteryear. I seems to me this is win-win!
