Average Hi/Lo per Month
December: 46.0/31.0
January: 47.3/30.9
February: 48.9/32.3
Our historic winter minima averages very close to 5F, so we really overperformed by one full zone.
Also, a look at January is instructive. Historic January average daily high and low are 40F and 23F. We were WAY over that.
Normally, when you have one or two really mild months, there'll be that one difficult month with really sharp cold. We didn't see that at all this winter. All three months were very agreeable.
Lastly, snow. Or, shall I say, the absence thereof. I couldn't find an official NWS cumulative figure for aggregate winter snowfall here, but anecdotally, it simply didn't snow here. The worst day was a day of on-again, off-again snow squalls where there was maybe half an inch on the grass and road medians, but just water on the roads and sidewalks. Zero plowable or shovelable snow all season. Just like winter SHOULD be!!
