So, better moving the ceremony to the gardens.
Fernando Fitz-James Stuart y Solis, Duke of Huescar and heir to the Dukedom of Alba, married at Liria Palace last Saturday. Considered as the "wedding of the year" in Spain, some royals attended. The most relevant guest was Queen Sofia. Although some expected Infanta Elena to attend, it was Queen Sofia who represented the Royal House. Jaime de Marichalar also attended. Other royals present were Princess Ana de Orleans and King Simeon and Queen Margarita of Bulgaria.
The groom wore the uniform of the Royal Maestranza of Seville, like his father and uncle Cayetano at their weddings. The bride chose not to wear a tiara. According to some sources, she took that decision after her father-in-law, the Duke of Alba, decided to hold the wedding at the palace gardens, instead of the palace chapel, a decision the bride did not agree with.
The House of Alba has released some pictures for the media.
Do you know what reason the Duke of Alba gave for not acceding to the bride's wish to hold the ceremony in the chapel?
