Lisa, what kind of information are you looking for? I know that Aristolochia clematitis was grown in monasteries in medevial times to assist women during child birth. Bearing in mind that at this time monastries were also hospitals. Therefore many of these plants are found growing in or near ruins of old monastries. I wonder are your gardens near an old monastry? Let me know if you need any further information.
