I have two questions about the Dietz 750 highway torch. I recently acquired a 750, and it is in pretty good shape. The only issue I have with it is that when I light it up, after about 10 minutes or so it begins to seep kero near the base of the burner hood that goes over the wick, which is then hard to put out.
I am not over filling the torch, so I am not sure what the issue is, or maybe this is what they do? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
The other question I had was with highway torches in general. Was there a specific tool or accessory that crews would use to put out the flame in a torch if the construction crew found that any of the torches were still burning the next day (I use a tin can, but that could not have been the official way to do it)?
Thanks!
