I would further narrow it down to 1955 through 1956. Some time in 1956, the NY USA was dropped from the top of the fount, and Made In Hong Kong was added to the bottom.The fill caps were marked UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the edge in 1954. From 1955 on, the fill caps were only marked DIETZ.
