Embury No. 25 Luck-E-Lite, Questions...

I recently acquired a Luck-E-Lite No.25 at an small town auction. I just have some questions about the lantern. What exactly was it used for? I have seen various things, from a caboose, to a truck? Just curious. Overall, it is in pretty good structural shape. I had a hell of time getting the fuel cap off, but alas, i got it. I recently purchased the original red globe, that was supposed to be in it, off of an eBay auction, the "E" with the rays w/ the #10. All in all, when it comes in I'll have roughly $60 bucks in it. I'm sure I can come up w/ a wick for it, add some fuel, and It should be functional. It looks to me like someone has spray painted the lantern, I see some paint runs on the metal. I was thinking about disassembling, sanding, and repainting the lantern. A restoration if you will. How would I go about disassembling this lantern? If that isn't feasible would anyone have any recommendations on how to get rid of the paint runs? Thanks a lot! Glad I stumbled upon this forum!
