I have no idea why folks would call these "smudge Pots" but they do most of the time, they are actually "Torches".
They are not even close to "smudge pots" which were used to protect the citrus and avocado crops here in CA. and many other places, along with grove circulation fans so many could have oranges, lemons, avocados, limes and other crops year round from "Sunny Calfornia"
