I've cleaned the seam around the hood
and gave it a good heavy dose of WD-40. It looked
like some of the WD-40 was actually penetrating,
I hope so as I will do this several times. The
holes in the hood are wider at the top then they
are at the bottom with rounded corners. After
several applications of the penetrant, I'm going
to find a smooth round bar that fits those corners
perfectly, slide it thru the burner and with
constant pressure and tapping the bar with a
hammer, I hope I see it move! If it does, I'll
turn it back to where it was and use more WD-40.
With TLC, I hope to get that hood off without any
damage. I'm not able to upload pictures to this
website, so if you send me your e-mail address I
will send you progress photos and some really
neat old torch adds that you may or may not have. My e-mail address is: adrianhurd@yahoo.com
