Thanks, John. They were making domed brass founts (U.S. Brass) in the 00 size, so this fits as being their first full-size domed fount. Dietz changed to domed founts on tin lanterns to facilitate mounting Winglock Cone burners in 1909 for No.1 burners and in 1912 for the No.2 burners. The winglock was patented in 1904, so Dietz either struggled with their burner/cone design or struggled with the domed founts needed for mounting it. I favor the former because in 1905 Dietz enlarged the burner gallery on the Blizzard enough to accommodate winglock slots, but the slots never happened. Also, the spiral wire modification patented 1917 does not appear until 1920.
