What type fuel.

What type fuel should I use in an Armspear Railroad lantern? This lantern has a 1 inch wick in it. None of my other R R lanterns have a wick that large they are 1/2 inch. Pat dates are Feb 28 05 Jan 30 07 May 31 10 Aug 19 13.
It has a iron bracket rivited on it that fits in a brass bracket that came with it. And as usual I dont have a camera to post a picture but I will as soon as I get one. Thanks Harry W
