why is there a hood on this little wizard? the tag on it showed it as being a "carriage lamp" but it had no clip to hold it to a carriage and a red globe so why does it have this? ive never seen one before and i have a feeling its not for it because it was screwed to the air hood on top with what looked like machine screws where there are no holes normally on a little wizard. i would have gotten closer but right in front of it there was a $85 oil lamp and i wasnt gonna move that to get to it and accidentally break it or something. also while at this antique shop i found (but didnt buy) a un-streamlined little wizard marked M.C. gas co. just like mine from a previous post and it was from 1947. mines from 1948. the globe was a ruby globe not a dipped globe like mine however
