Bob, it is a fount and burner, probably fits an auto or buggy side lamp maybe a bicycle lamp but without the body I couldn't tell you much more, the burner looks familiar to me though maybe Dietz. I'll go through my automotive and buggy lamps and see if I find one like it, if I do I'll let you know.
