The patent information has drawings and descriptions of how to hang the lantern on the bracket when it is attached to the vehicle. I think you will find the patent information most helpful. The hanger was actually designed as an anti-theft hanger device so the difficulty you had attaching the hanger to the lantern is suppose to work in reverse. Ha!
