Re: How long did Berger manufacturer its "Apex" Lantern?
Berger started in 1886, same as C.T. Ham, and appears to have ceased lantern production at about the same time as Ham, 1914, although Berger-made lanterns still appeared in 1915 advertizing by Hibbard-Spencer-Bartlett. The hot blasts are rare and the cold blasts are common if you count the HSB's. At this time, I would date this lantern somewhere in the 1895-1908 range as these are the dates I would assign to the supposed 1889 and 1911 catalogs that are available. My reasoning for this is a whole 'nother story. The whole Berger line needs much more research.
