Hi, the reflectors were most likely originally tin plated so as to be shiny, at least the pair I have appear to have been. W.T.Kirkmans' #411 "Monarch" hot blast burner fits in my Buckeye Dash Lamps just fine, although the new ones don't have the flat disk knob at the end of the wick raiser shaft that the older ones had.
