thankyou for the reply.
I'm not sure that it's a rebadged Dietz. The differences I see are as follows:
1) The horizonal guards around the chimney is different from a Dietz Mill lantern. This one is soldered, where Dietz is held in place by a metal clamps coming off the frame.
2) There is a wire brace added to the lift, where all of the Dietz hot blast lanterns I have seen do not.
3) The Dietz Mill has a wire support coming off the bottom of the tubes to the faunt. This one does not have this bracing.
I found the following image from the Kestler Collection web site which shows the differences http://s91795574.onlinehome.us/index.html).
Another item is if you are correct w/ the statement that "Dietz promise to never make jobber brands", then why is the faunt marked from the inside "Dewey Mill Lantern". this had to be done at the factory?
I'll admit that I am a rank amature when it comes to lanterns, but I am not totally sold that this is a rebadged Dietz.
thanks
Steve
