I have not seen a Ham 00 with a side lift, which is why I thought it interesting that the subject lantern has the side lift patent. The most distinguishing feature of the 00 and the early Gem is the wide oval brim on the bell that wraps around the tubes. Around 1909 the Gem changes to a regular round brim, regular crossed globe wires; and, it gets a larger domed tank and inside lift. The 1912-1914 version with large fill is actually rarer than the older ones.
