I never gave the wick a thought! I have all new wicks an my lanterns but its 2 different weaves. Some have dietz wicks and some have another brand. The Dietz wicks are a tighter weave than the other brand. The air tubes are all clear because I clear them out with compressed air when I get a lantern. Thanks for the idea Bobby. Harry W.
