It's definitely a lantern burner from the 1890's, when Dietz shared burners and several other parts with Steam Gauge and Lantern Co. (S.G.&L.) Dietz owned 50% of SG&L from it's inception in 1881. Looks like a No.2 size which would measure 7/8" across the wick tube opening. The shaft looks a bit longer than standard, probably for some sort of specialty lantern that I can't place at this time. Very curious, thanks for showing it!
