Highway/Street Kerosene Traffic Lanterns: Re: Classic ebay

It has not occured to me that smudge pots could be used to mark a runway but I can see they would be excellent for that purpose. They'd be visible from all directions and from above, and they wouldn't blow over. I can imagine smaller airports in rural areas keeping a few on hand years ago in the event of a power outage.
