I just bought a junker at a flea market near Roxboro NC today that is exactly like yours except
the date is S-4-40. It has an Embury globe and a Dietz cap so I figured it was worth $6.00. It is not as clean as yours but is obviously the same paint job, which is very neatly done with some really tough paint. I asked the seller if he knew anything about the lantern and he told me it came from an estate sale in Virginia. Go figure!
