I'm not sure what you mean by solid cast. Cast is actually a misnomer for lantern globes which are all blown in a mold. The short globes with the 2-18-18 patent (made by Hocking and Corning) or the FEB-18-18 patent (made by Rodifer and Gleason) are presumed to have been issued in 1918 along with the first Fitzall Loc-Nob. This particular date is a mystery because it is not a patent date. My best educated guess is that this production ended in 1926-1927 with the launching of the rarer 12-4-23 patent version.
