Corning Nonex glass was first developed in 1908 and patent application in 1909. It was used extensively in tall globe railroad lanterns into the 1930's when the short globe started to be more popular although the tall globes where made into the 1950's. I read elsewhere that nonex was also used as a tungsten sealing glass for the electronics industry until it was discontinued in 1995
