I remember seeing that lantern and guessing that it once belonged to a company that hauled Cadillac cars for GM. It was made by Dietz between early 1920 and late 1935 and has a plastic (bakelite) fill cap that belongs on a Paull's (Wheeling Stamping)lantern. It was a bit rusty, so you may need to buff the middle of the right tube with some steel wool to read the actual production date that is stamped there. BB
