Sorry guys! My Bad. I thought i was seeing a large fill on that odd Perfect. It's still odd because the fill IS on the back. Note the globe retaining wire which always releases the globe to the front on a hot blast and the lift loop which would be correctly positioned on the front of the lantern. That 1900 Defiance catalog uses wording, in the intro, that indicates it is not their first production, so I think it is probably closer to 1902-1903. Dennis changed the dates on the Embury cats at classislantern at my urging, and we have since established that the second catalog is 1915, showing the debut of the Duplex motor lamp. Anyway, George's Zero Perfect must then date somewhere in the 1906-1911 range. I have been tracking the chisel-point tee for a while, but have not come to any conclusions yet. The CPT tooling was used by Prisco and also by Embury, when Embury was in Rochester. I hope to find the time to line-up a couple dozen of these Perfects and check them closer. BB
