I haven't posted in a couple of months. I've been very down about Max. He even stopped wolf whistling. He don't look well and he's not eating. I didn't call the vet because even if he's sick he won't do well with taking antibiotics from me. I'll call her next week to come over anyway. I feel so bad for him. I do sit with him most days not all for at least 5 hours. He never got closer to me since Dorian died. He used to fly at least once in a blue moon on my head but nothing no more. He won't even whistle at me. He just turned sixteen years old since I got him on Memorial Day. He was around six months old then. Dorian and Max were so happy until moved. At least they had a good 13 years. I've had cockatiels for at least 45 to 50 years now. I don't know what life will be like without a bird. As you can see I'm extremely down. I never got over losing Dorian.

It's good to call the vet in, at least to find out what's wrong. Talk to her about the problem medicating him.

I'm so sorry he's not doing well, and that You both are still grieving Dorian. Keep talking to Max, even though he's not responding. Whistle at him if you can. Let him know he's still your flock member, no matter what. That's all you can do besides the vet, and loving him.

Sending hugs your way, and prayers that he turns around and gets better.

Thanks. I'll call the vet tomorrow. He's preening himself and he is eating, even though each day it seems a little less. I really thought when Max flew to the top of my head that maybe it might be ok. But I guess not. I am whistling at him all the time. Oh well.

Did he stop landing on your head recently? I know, mine are all molting right now. That can affect mood and appetite....

He stopped a good couple of months ago. He always wolf whistled at me but for about three weeks nothing. He seems to wake up around 5:00 pm. I don't seem to get that. I put more flat perches platforms next to the food to make sure he can eat. He's eating now. He's eating the millet. I don't really like that. I'd rather see him eat the avicakes. Only time will tell. Like I said above he had 13 good years. The move to this apartment did not work out. It's not pet bird convenient.

Tiels do their activity usually in the morning and evening. SO his 5pm wakeup is probably instinctual. 3 weeks since whistling. Might be that he's ill, or might be that he's going to molt and is not feeling perky.

I hope he comes around and perks back up. He may or may not start landing on your head again. Tweets takes that in spells, too.

I’m sorry he’s not feeling well. I hope the vet can fix whatever’s wrong.
