VERY low-flying geese

Last night when I was walking on the sidewalk to my building, four Canadian geese came bolting out of nowhere. I thought that they were being chased by a predator but they were just h**l-bent for leather. But they were flying so low I actually had to duck (PLEASE pardon the pun) or they would have slammed into my face! I couldn't help it: I yelled "incoming!".

LOL! And did anyone hear your cries?

I can just picture it all and in South Texas, there are no Canadian Geese to my knowledge.

No, there was no one around to appreciate my humor.

I think that they were Canadian geese. I could swear that I saw a flash of green in the neck feathers of one of them, though.

I'm laughing so hard right now. They weren't geese, they were mallard ducks. I can't even get my species correct. I realized a few minutes ago that I was hearing quacking, not honking.
