How did your birds do during New Year's fireworks?

This is the first time Cookie or any of our birds got scared of fireworks noises! Maybe it was closer or louder this year. We have many neighbors who do some really loud ones in the streets.
Anyway.......he got scared about 8 or 9 pm by it, well after he'd gone to bed and was covered, as it as dark by 5:30 pm. My husband opened his cage and he ran up his arm and firmly refused to get off his shoulder, LOL. His eyes were all big, and his crest up.
We took Cookie into the living room, and let him sit on the back of the couch with us. We were watching TV. Cookie was staring at a gap in the blinds so I pulled the curtain over it. Then he was content, and even started playing, singing, and clucking.
After about an hour, he was ready to go back to his covered cage, and he was fine, even though the fireworks continued. I guess he just had to be sure everything was safe!
Then, mercifully, around 10 or 11 pm, it started to rain, and all the revelers took their noisy stuff and went inside. I have heard a few bangs and pops off and on, even tonight, but nothing like New Year's Eve. Cookie has been fine with that, too.
We normally don't even stay up that late, but we did this year, to make sure Cookie was going to be ok.

Mr Tweets was startled by the first loud bang, but after a few minutes, he calmed down and all the birds went to sleep fine. He's never been startled like that before by fireworks. But then again, I was expecting them and I was startled, too!
