It's funny ...

how the other day I was remembering how opinionated Shiloh could get at times. I had a song routine when I cleaned her cage in the morning before work and her food changed out, water and stuff. Just snippets, sometime the words changed but one song I tried was a definite no-no. It was Sheryl Crow's Soak Up the Sun. Shiloh had this particular scream tone she used when saying "I don't like it or stop it which is what she did the first time that I sang the song.

Another good memory.

I know that screech! There are certain songs and videos Cookie doesn’t like, too.

LOL!!! Shiloh definitely had her preferences. If I recall, she was a huge Neil Diamond fan..

LOL…guess they all have their likes and dislikes. Angel absolutely hates the sound of the Amazon truck when it backs up..he starts screeching at that first sound even when backing up around the corner!

I don't blame him. The sound reminds me of a snake for some reason.

Yes, Shiloh adored all things Neil Diamond. And Steve Perry from the band Journey. But I had to stop playing Journey's music CDs because their songs triggered her hormones, making her nesty. She loved Neil but didn't get hormonal. I know, weird.

Mine reacted (good? bad?) to commercials that would come on TV and they would react to one for awhile and then "ghost" it, only to react routinely to a different one. That was a cycle that played over and over here.
Now, my socks or my shirt? They/it HAD TO BE the ones Bailey liked or trusted. I actually had a tattered shirt that I had to put on in order to get him back into his cage.
A couple of different kinds of 'tiel opinion-expressing!

I had to wear gray tshirts all the time, because my tiels hated bright colors on me.

I watch a lot of crime dramas and Max goes crazy every time he hears a police siren and I tell him that they're coming to arest him because he doesn't love his mom.

Mine don't like any new noises. I haven't noticed them react to sirens on TV, but let a bird chirp on TV? They think it's an invasion!

Omigosh I'm laughing so hard right now. And the best part is that we accommodate them! And Diane, yours was so funny.

I just remembered a couple more of her peeves: I could not have any kind of a patterned shower curtain. It had to be beige or tan colored or she would not fly into the bathroom where she liked to hang out on the towel rod. And she also hated Abba (sorry Abba: I adore, adore you guys).

Solid dull colors only! LOL My tiels still love the Xfiles theme and things with whistling in them...

My issue, now that I have no more fids here, is that they were so "fickle" as far as their reactions to jingles, etc. were concerned...
...that I became used to paying attention to these changes and so now, even with just me here, my "knee jerk" reaction is to send out a soothing "It's okay" message whenever ANYTHING sounds from the TV.
And yes...sometimes that "knee jerk" is audible!

Routines are hard to break!

LOL!! I know what you mean. I still flinch when I hear a blue jay because their calls bothered Shiloh.

I do that too, if I think they don't like a sound from the TV.. I can understand how you still do..
