Just a hello!

Hi everyone (that remembers me).
Just stopped by for a peek at what's happening in the Tiel Chat world.
I am so sorry to see the losses of some dear birds friends.
I retired last October and am downsizing my furred and feathered kids so I can be ready to move into a senior apartment hopefully soon.
I currently have Misty, my white dove and Cali (Caliente), my Jenday Conure. Lily, is my 13 year old cat and Julius Orange Julius) is my 10 month old kitten. Why did I ever think a kitten was a good idea at my age I'll never know!
Seesthru, you have kept this board looking beautiful. Congrats on the 24 years!
There were those that thought it would never last.

Sati, hi! Yes, I remember you. It's so nice to hear from you. I'm laughing because 10 month old kittens are NOT for the faint of heart. But I imagine that you enjoy his antics. 😃

I used to be Cathy and the girls, then Cathy and Shiloh and now I'm Cathy. I lost Shiloh August 6, 2022. 😢 She was 14 1/2 years old. It was difficult making myself to not get another bird but I'm up there in age, too, and not the spring chicken that I used to be.

Seesthru has been our mainstay all of these years. Sharing her wisdom, gift for graphics and making this a family place.

Hi! I do remember you! That would be so hard to rehome beloved pets. We have been trying to get any more new ones for the same reason, kinda. We’re not expecting to move into Independent or Assisted Living any time really soon, but we are anticipating moving to another state when my husband retires. We will take Cookie with us no matter where we go. He is an only bird now. All the others have passed in years since. Downsizing all our stuff in this house will be a gargantuan task.

Should say “we’re trying NOT to get any more new pets now.” Autocorrect just randomly dropped the “not.” Maybe it’s trying to tell us to adopt another bird LOL.

That is what I meant by downsizing. I am not removing. But we aren't replacing those we lost. This is unless they are small and too adorable to resist and need a loving home.

Same here. I just know the bird rescue will have a bird we can’t resist!

Sati, you built the board into a great place! Though there are not many people posting on it since the advent of social media, it's still a good place, I think. I was just wondering about you a couple of days ago, wondering how you are doing, so I'm very glad you stopped in to say hello!!!

I currently have 3 tiels, a quaker and 3 budgies. I'm in an apartment now, yay! It's not the best, but they allowed my birds, and it's a sturdy and relatively quiet place. I hope you will love the place you get.

It's so good to see you! You've been missed!

I hope this board will last a bit longer and will be a place people can come for advice or just relaxation. 24 years, wow. 2001 seems so long ago, and then again, seems like yesterday.

Sati!!! It’s so good to see your post. You may remember my Herbie. After 26 years he went over Rainbow Bridge the Monday after Easter. Come back and visit more often.
