Whip O'Will

I was outside earlier and I heard a Whip O'Will!
I have lived here for years and it's the first time I've heard one. And during the day, too. I grew up in Mass. and they were very common in the summer but they always did their calling at night.

That's great, they hopefully are making a comeback. I loved hearing them at night when i was a kid when my family lived in rural MN.

Same here! There was also a swamp down the road aways (it was a dead-end lane leading to a mountain) and in the summer I'd fall asleep to the bullfrogs' calling and the katydids.
