When my little Cinni and Michael came into my life well over 20 years ago, I never thought I would still have them as part of my life today. I lost my beautiful and only little female, Sunni, who was Michael's mate, five years ago. I started with my precious Cara, then added Cody who have flown across the Rainbow Bridge. I just never dreamed I would still have my Cinni and Michael still with me. They are both well up into their 20s, have lost their sight due to cataracts but still happy and are a vital part of my family. When I adopted them, I knew nothing about birds but I made it a priority to learn everything I could. That was when I found this Board and its' wonderful family of bird lovers. We have shared so much over these years. Some of our human members have crossed the Rainbow Bridge with many little lives I fell madly in love with and grieved deeply at their loss.
I can't say enough about what I learned here and came to love so many little feathered angels and their parents. It became my second home. It is the reason my two little boys are still alive today, happy and still enjoying life.
Thank you Seesthru, for my "second home" and all the friends that became a part of our family, and for giving me a place to learn about my beloved boys. These little angels are small but they have huge hearts full of love for their family. I can't begin to express the love and happiness they, and all of our dear posters, have added to my life. Thank each of you.
Juanita, you are the heart of this little family here. WE love and appreciate you, and we adore Cinni and Michael.
I'm like you, I never thought at this age, I'd still have birds, certainly not Solomon, the first cockatiel I ever adopted, back in 1995. He's blind, like your boys, but he still sings his heart out every day, sometimes multiple times a day. My heat melts.
I love hearing about everyone's birds, their lives, everything. I love that this board is bird-focused, but that we can still talk about storms, and other events, too. I am thankful for each and every visitor, and poster here.
Wow, seesthru, that makes him 28! I don't know what you and Juanita are doing but you are doing something right for sure. I know a lot of it is pure love.
Even though I no longer have birds to share stories with you all, I still enjoy hearing yours and seeing pics.
