I remember the stories that came out later about people who were supposed to be in one of the Towers that day but were somehow miraculously kept away by one circumstance or the other.

Something made me go online that morning and I saw the breaking news, and heard it on the radio stations and then a coworker ran home to bring in her portable TV. We were all in absolute shock.

People who worked in Manhattan couldn't get home because they shut down all exit and entry points.

And, literally, the health fallout from all of the chemicals people were exposed to.

That was also the day that our boss passed away.
