Dakota settled in fairly quickly singing, exploring his new home, and humping the perches pretty aggressively while singing and clucking. It's likes he is testing out each perches effectiveness. He is about 10 years old. He is super friendly and hand tame. I'm wondering if the transition to a new environment triggered hormonal behaviors. He is also banging his beak into the perch and displaying lots of heart wings. He is on a zupreem natural pellet diet with occasional millet and raw organic leafy greens. He poops about every half hr. Sunshine pooped every 5 to 10 minutes and was a seed eater. I didn't realize they can poop less often! He is fighting sleep meanwhile the fireworks will be pretty rough tonight. We were planning to give him until Friday to get used to his home then start taking him out to explore beyond the cage. Does that sound about right?
