In the picture, they are still panting. They were afraid when they got home, but are relaxing some now and even chirped when they heard the tiels and Rico Quker in the bird room. They are separate for now, quarantine.
I don't have names yet. They are over 4 months, I'd say, but definitely under a year old. Their ceres are still pink. I think the white one is a girl, and the blue one is a boy, just from behavior. We shall see, if/when their ceres change.
Honestly, I hadn't planned on adding to the family. And pets aren't something I'd advise giving as gifts. But, these two have a home here now, and will be loved members of the flock...by me at least, LOL! Not sure the other birds are gonna be happy about budgies. Budgies can be bullies. They will need extra careful watching around my elderly tiels and Rico.
Plus, I'd left the pretty budgie cage behind when I moved. It's roomy. I'm going to have to call the old landlord and see if they still have it in my old place, hopefully get it back...And I have to get food and water dishes, toys, etc....They gave me a gift certificate for 50 dollars towards the supplies I need . Hopefully, that will get some perches, toys and dishes.
The family was so happy to give me these little darlings. The mom, daughter and 2 grandkids all came to bring them to me. So sweet of them! But I'm like, what am I gonna do with these little ones? The answer is clear. Love them! I hadn't realized how much I miss budgies chirping until today.
