I hope it won't become a problem. We have one female and one male, (they do not like each other, but tolerate each other's presence). Our female, Mae, has to be on Lupron shots every month, to keep her from having reproductive "issues." She was a chronic egg layer before we adopted her. She figured out how to remove the implant of the same drug! The implant was supposed to last 6 months, and is more economical that way, too. But she got it out very quickly. Now she knows how, so she is only getting shots. It has helped immensely.
