I’m sorry you’ve been sick so much! Hope you’re feeling better now. Yes, when you’re home a lot, they expect that to continue. We’re usually home, but my husband is in n his office working diligently during the week so they sometimes voice their displeasure Monday morning when he can’t join us after they’ve gotten accustomed to him being visible all weekend. Some years they’ve been more vocal in spring through summer when the days are so long. Even though they’re covered at night, they know. Usually the yelling is answered by us , like, “What do you want?” Some days they don’t seem to want anything so much as just want to holler. I agree it can be hard not to reinforce it, when sometimes it’s important to go see if they’re yelling for a reason we need to know about. It just them being a bird sometimes, and other times a stray catvis in the yard. They like to see me chase cats out of the yard!
