Christine (St. Vrain) Howard, gr-gr-gr-grandaughter of Marcellin and Red (Red Cloud) St. Vrain, visited at the old historic Fort St. Vrain as well as the power plant on June 15th and 16th. Christine was here with her daughter, Christa and family friend and reseacher, Abi Westwood. The three ladies stayed with Kathy Hardin (an employee of the power station and Platteville resident) and I was fortunate enough to join up with them on the 16th for tours of the plant, historical fort, Ft. Vasquez and the Platteville Museum. It was quite a delight for all of us to meet an actual descendant of the manager of the orginal fort with operated from in the early to mid 1800's. Christine would like to see the historical fort rebuilt someday. I will post more information and photos on the website soon.
