Joseph and Dorothy came from Cockermouth in Cumberland and came with their son Francis to Liverpool in about 1830 they were old at that time, so how they made it I don't know.
Their daughter Dorothy married (1) Capt. Julius Brett in Liverpool 1820. and (2) Newman -
I am very proud to have found this grave. and very surprised at finding Joseph and Dorothy of Cockermouth. They both died not long after settling in Liverpool.
the stone is still there ?
There is a verse on the stone
'Grieve not dear wife for I am at rest
Grieve not dear child for I am blessed
Grieve not my friends i've left a world of care
To meet my God to follow me prepare'
