Queen Margrethe has said many times that the two Frederiks are similar in many ways. They both were/are very popular with the general population and prefer to mingle with ordinary folk. King Frederk X can become impatient with formality and protocol but he has certainly improved since becoming King.
On the other hand, Queen Margrethe is quite shy by nature, more so in her younger years, and is more comfortable in structured situations.
Stig will surely be able to add to this.

Is it possible to discern any similarities or contrasts between King Frederik IX (9) and King Frederik X (10) in regards to their personalities, e.g. laidback, extroverted, etc. or their respective approach to their position as monarch? Or, even, similarities/contrasts with their daughter or mother, respectively, Margrethe II (2)?
I seem to think, recently, that Frederik X is probably more 'relaxed' in his approach as monarch because of recent photos of the king and queen relaxing on Dannebrog. The king was leaning over the ship's rail holding a glass of wine and his wife, Mary, was fishing.
