Yes, the Norwegian RF are lucky at the moment because the media glare that came up in the first few days after Mette-Marit's involvements with Epstein has subsided. Meanwhile the criminal's son's case is also not receving much attention in mainstream media even in Oslo so...probably CP Haakon is somehow wishing it will "all go away" with time, but it won't. And that may be where he's shortsighted. IMO, his wife continues to call the shots even though of course she is the prime source of most of the RF's ongoing problems, leaving aside her sister-in-law's antics with the unpaid bills after the wedding to the murky Shaman. In the long run, the Epstein files will probably continue to shine a light on M-M's dealings with him, and at the same time the son with his multiple counts of criminal violence will also face sentencing sooner if not later. There are no good options or solutions for the future for this family, as far as I can see.

At some point the King will die and there are no guarantees that the scandals involving the CP couple will then have disappeared. Haakon will have to take over the reigns and I wonder if the Norwegians will want to continue the monarchy for much longer when Haakon and Mette Marit cause such drama.. Marius will go to prison but he won't go away... Mette Marit seems to have made quite a few miscalculations along the way, is seriously ill and in need of a life prolonging surgery... its all a bit much..

The news reports in more recent days indicate that he has recovered and continues his stay in Canary Islands. It's a relief to know of course in present circumstances due to the various situations with his son and daughter-in-law, involving various ongoing cases in courts and various "files" elsewhere still being disclosed. Stability in this time is key, imo.
